December 29, 2014 It's a New Year

I made just a couple of New Years cards to send out this year - this one is for my daughter then I made one for my chemo buddy and one for my senior buddy.  This was a snap to put together especially when I used a pre-colored digi from Doodle Pantry and the set comes with DP to go with.  I used the DP behind my phone then used some double sided strip on my base card.  Punched out the 2015 from AMuse Studio dies - added a bit of twine and a sentiment and this card is read for the mail.  Challenges:

December 24, 2014 Twas the Night Before Christmas

Spent yesterday morning with a very dear friend and crafting bud Patti for Christmas coffee, wonderful cinnamon rolls warm from the oven, and to spend a few hours in her beautifully decorated home, everywhere you looked it was Christmas - even the master bath - and oh the smells and Christmas music did put me in the spirit of Christmas and showed me that good friends and family is what Christmas is all about.  We exchanged gifties had our coffee and rolls and then we did a little bit of crafting. This is totally cut from Graphic 45 scrapbook paper and made into an easel card with a Kraft base,  I'm sure it would have gone together much quicker if we had gotten down to task at hand but we talked, laughed, had more coffee and did a bit more crafting.
Our next little crafty project was this darling snowflake magnet - although you could put a ribbon on it and use it for an ornament, I choose to make it a magnet.  Had not made rosettes in a long time so it was fun doing all those mountain/valley folds.  Here is the finished product.

Sending Merry Christmas wishes to all of my blogging friends may you have a very blessed Christmas.

December 19, 2014 Little Gifties

These are so much fun and EASY to make - I got the pattern from Dawns SU site, (my computer is not playing nice lately so I can't pull up the exact date).  These are just that little "extra" to add to a gift or when you just want to say "thank you" to someone.  You see it holds this:

which a lot of people carry in their purse or keep on their desk at work or home.  I went to Bath and Body Works and picked up several while they were "on sale" in various Christmas/winter scents.  I made 8 of these this afternoon - going to a luncheon tomorrow and want to give a couple of these with my gift.  These can be adapted to any season - I made them for fall too, now the next ones ewill be spring theme.

December 16, 2014 Horse Country Christmas

One of my "besties" brought lunch and her NEW die from Memory Box called Horse Country - well I had to make a special card for our sweet little foster pup we had this summer, Elle, that was adopted by a very special lady in WI.  This lady is an equine vet and loves dogs so I had to include a dog in the card too. I cut out two of the die one from white and one from Kraft then cut the kraft horse apart so I could put it on the bottom hill.  My husband said  "where is the doggie" and I just happen to have a set of 5 doggies from Impression Obsession and this little cutie fit perfectly.  Some blue glitter cs for the bg and some glitter snow on the trees and hillsides.  Merry Christmas sweet Elle, we love and miss you but know you are blessed with a wonderful Mom and dog sister too.  Challenges:

December 13, 2013 Merry Christmas Tree

This was one of the easiest Christmas cards I made this year - and yes it is "cased" but can't remember where!!!  I used SU tree set - the Merry Christmas was in my Christmas sentiments, I think I need more vertical greetings.  Love the "new" embossing folder of snow from Taylored Expressions - on white it truly looks like snow falling.  I was able to make 15 of these cards in under 2 hours.  Now off to address the envelopes - which will take longer than it did to make the card.

December 11, 2014 Let It Snow

Good morning!

I'm here today with a bit of fun!
A few weeks ago, seven of us decided we would do a Christmas/Winter card swap.
It was so much fun to see the different cards come in, that we decided to take it one step
further, and do a blog hop with our swap cards!

This is just for fun...no prizes, but we hope that you are inspired by something
that you see today!

My swap card is at the top of my post.  I love snowmen and this cutie from AMuse is no exception - and...it comes with a die so no fussy cutting for this girl.  Colored with copics,  Trees and scene are from SU and the trees come to life with platinum stickles.  CS from AMuse - I used the blueberry polka dot which I thought went really well with this cutie.

you can hop along with us, and see what the other folks created!

Thanks for stopping by - have a great

December 2, 2014 Smile

Just a quick card that I am sending to a little chemo buddy that has lost yet "another" tooth - this little tooth fairy has been busy the past week!!  I'm not sure what the going rate for teeth are now - but with inflation I think maybe a $2.00 bill will cover it.  The DP is from SU punch Recollections, stamp from Sweet November Stamps - A little bit of Magic - all of the images are cute little fairies. A little bit of fairy dust glitter dust on her wings will help her fly!!            Challenges:

November 22, 2014 Let it Snow

Every month I do a  1-1 swap  with Technique Junkies where you have to use a technique from Technique Junkies - well I have been a subscriber for many years so it is not hard for me to find a technique that I haven't tried - or one that I have tried and really enjoyed.  This month my swap partner was a former angel - Carol Norby so I made this card for her  - a zig zag accordian card with an easel on the back for sitting it up for display.  My stamps are from AMuse Studio and SU - paper from my stash and then I got out my different sizes of snowflake punches and used some blue glitter paper for my snowflakes.  Hope you enjoy Carol.  Challenges:
     Divas by Design - snowy
     Moo-Mania - Trees
Simply create Too - snow or all white - I used snowflakes/snow.

November 17, 2014 Home Sweet Home

I needed a quick card to go in the mail today to send to a friend who just adopted a beautiful sweet Rhodesian Ridgeback Dog.  Gracie will be in an amazing loving home.  I used the 3 x 4 snap cards from the AMuse Studio and DP from DCWV - cardstock from AMuse.  This was such a fun card to put together - stopped at PetCo and got a gift card for Gracie and the card went postal today.

November 11, 2014 Be Still

This was one of my favorite cards that we made when my friend and stamping bud came down a couple of weeks ago - love the purple and gray together and so simple to put together.  I think the stamp is from CTMH.  Added a butterfly and the card was ready to go - I love to have these kind of cards ready when I have a special request from Chemo Angels.

November 4, 2014 Butterflies

Hope this meets the sketch requirements for this weeks Sketch Saturday - it was a little different than we are used to but did make me think a bit.  I love this stamp (Impressions Obsession I think).  I embossed it in peacock blue, added a little sentiment and some pearls and then to look for some DP, to my stash I went and I like how this kind of added a bit of additional color .  Three little pearls and this card is ready to head off to  someone who needs some angel cheer.  Challenges:

November 1, 2014 I support You

Wanted to get this in for October Breast Cancer month but I think anytime is time to support breast cancer.  I've had this stamp for a long time and used it a couple times in the past and it is still a go to favorite.  It is from TAC stamps which is now out of business, but i love blinging it up - this one I did with pearls and sent it to a very special person who is going through breast cancer and has such a positive attitude.  I did get a note from her after she received it and told me how much she appreciated the card.  This will be one of those sets that will stay in my "archives" for a while.

October 26, 2014 Boo Eek Boo

I have yet to post a Halloween card so this is the only "new" one I made this year - my friend Patti came over a couple of weeks ago to stamp and this was one of her "projects and I love how it turned out, all products except the black velvet spider and  black velvet paperare from AMuse Studio and I think it all came together so darn cute.  This would be so easy to do for any holiday.  Challenges:

October 24, 2014 Shaped Stencils

Every month I take part in a Technique Junkies 1-1 swap and we have to use one of the techniques from TJ.  That is never a problem for me as I have been a subscriber for a very long time - unfortunately this is the newsletter last publication.  I am hoping we will still continue the swap as I have gotten some very nice cards.  The directions are always very easy to follow and I love seeing the creations that the DT has made using the technique.  This technique was fun and got me to get out a couple of the stencils that I thought I "needed" but not yet used.  Makes a very nice card.  I am hoping my swap partner this month enjoys the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

October 21, 2014 Jake

DP from DCWV - Kraft CS 12 x 12 cut down from TAC, AMuse for brown polka dot DP

This is one of those cards you don't enjoy making a sympathy card.  Our daughter/SIL had to put their beloved boxer Jake to sleep this week - he lived a wonderful long life but the last few months his quality of life was so poor he simply was not enjoying his days or nights.  What a difficult decision this is to make -  Jake you were loved by everyone you met.  Challenges:

October 18, 2014 Stamping Fun

One of my besties, Donna,  called me Monday and told me she was finished with her monthly work and needed a couple of days at the Hotop Hotel!!!  I quick put together some projects for us to share as she did and she arrived on Tuesday am to STAMP!!!  In the meantime one of my other besties Patti called and said she had a surprise for me and when I told her Donna was here she said "wow this will work out beautifully".  You see we had BOTH won prizes from Patti's recent 6th anniversary blog post.  What a fun time we had stamping, lunch served by Mr. Hotop, and then more stamping.  These are just two of Donna's projects - the first one uses all AMuse Studio supplies and the second is a cute digi by Meljens Design - colored this cute little guy with copics and I have a card all ready to go to my little chemo buddy this next week.  There will be more pictures the next few days and one showing the prize that Donna won.

October 11, 2014 Eat Cake

Stamps and  paper by AMuse Studio

You would have to know my son to appreciate this but...a week or so ago he asked me if I thought I could make a card for his director at Headway.  Now he knows I make all my own cards and he even has made a card or two for my hubby (with my assist).  So I asked him if he wanted cute, pretty, funny, and he said "yes".  So here is what I came up with - I hand delivered it to him last weekend when we had lunch together and he was very happy with it.

October 7, 2014 Hand Santizer for Fall

Cardstock from my stash, pattern paper from Farm House and acorn die by Die-Versions, then used embossing folder

Yea - finally had a play day with one of my BFFs  Pat , the other day and this was one of her projects - we watched the video from Dawns Stamping Thoughts  while we cut and scored and after watching her video it all went together 1-2-3 and is so darn cute.  Here is a picture of it open

I'm thinking all sorts of little giftie here - fall, Halloween, Christmas, Birthday etc.  They are easy to put together and the hand santizers are very reasonable at Bath and Body especially when you have a coupon.

October 4, 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness

Stamp from TAC, paper Stemma, button from my stash, ribbon from stash

I have a chemo buddy with breast cancer so I have a goodie package all ready to send out this week with socks, coaster, pen, and a scarf - when I saw the sketch from Sketch Saturday I knew what my layout was going to be.  This stamp set was released at the last seminar the Angel company had and I have hung on to it (as well as many others).  Colored with copics and added tiny pearls on the bra for some added bling.  I have had this pack of ribbon buttons for a while and this was just what was needed to finish the card off.   Today is Happy World Card Making Day so I hope everyone got a chance to do a little card making.      Challenges:

Just got this cute set a couple of weeks ago using Fall in the Forest from AMuse Studio and I thought it would work very nicely with the Sketch Saturday sketch this week.  There are 4 little forest creatures including a fox (which is my favorite).  I'm hoping this fall card will cheer up my little senior lady that I send a card and a note to every week.  Challenges:

Last weekend our friends came down - mister helped my hubby work on our deck remodeling (vinyl) and Diane and I got to spend some much needed time in my craft room.  This card was "cased" from Pintrest but we both really like the look.  I am having so much fun coloring with my gelatos and experimenting with different techniques using them.  I love the sentiment - and this card is in the mail to my new chemo buddy.  Challenges:

September 24, 2014 Happy Fall

Dies, Acorn Die-Version Acorn, Leaf , Poppystamps, Stitched Circle Die-Namics colored with gelatos, sentiment AMuse

Fun fall card made with die cuts and colored with gelatos, loving to experiment with my gelatos which I got for my birthday, there are so many different ways to use these wonder sticks of color.  I used DPs from my stash - and I am happy with the results.   I am just not feeling fall yet - but the leaves in our 5 acre back yard are starting to turn.  Went to Kimmswick MO yesterday to a darling little stamp store call the Stamp Pad and bought all three dies that I used for this card.  I had my punch card filled and a 30% off coupon so I made out pretty well.  This card will be in the mail soon to a chemo buddy.  Challenges:

September 16, 2014 Butterfly Sympathy

AMuse script stamp, SU Grunge stamp,  Sizzix combo stamp/die butterflies, Spellbinders die edge, coloring with Gelatos

I have seen this on a blog Darlene Designs  and simply loved it.  She has some great tutorials on her blog and some cute ideas. I had gotten gelatos a while back, a gift from my son, so thought I would play and I felt like i was a first grader fingerpainting - so much fun and love the look.  Love the butterflies - they were a stamp/die combo set (which also comes with some beautiful flowers) from a bestie for my birthday.  I used a Faber Castell Big Brush pen and darkened the center of the butterflies a bit - again you can mix, shade with your finger tip.  love the Grunge stamp set from SU - just added that little extra.  Although you can't see it in my picture the gelato has a shimmer/shine which IRL really sparkles.  This card is for the family of my chemo buddy that recently passed away, always sad when you loose a buddy that you have been a part of their life but the family said she was always happy when she got Angel Mail.  Challenges:

Had a special request from a little girl that needed some cheering up and she loves dogs - I immediately thought of the Doodles Pantry image Poodles of Fun - it comes colored/black and white but I choose the colored so I could get it in the mail the next morning and was pressed for time,.  I made a scallop circle easel card so Mom could set it up on her dresser or desk for her.  I'm thinking this will bring a smile.     Challenges:

September 8, 2014 Paper Pieced Owl

Stamp Patch Owl by Woodware Craft, DP from Hampton Art KI argyle Paper Pad
Ribbon from my Stash, Sentiment from TAC

I have a friend who has a birthday coming up soon and she "loves" owls.  I found an owl garden flag for her yard with fall owls so I thought an owl card was in order.  At first I was thinking about coloring this cute little guy - but the more I looked the more I thought Paper Piece and it worked out just the way I wanted.  I love double sided DP - you know colors are going to match.  I had just a bit of the owl ribbon left in my stash and it worked out to be just what it needed.  Hope she enjoys as much as I enjoyed making it.     Challenges:

August 25, 2014 UNIQUE BLOG HOP

Today's blog post is a UNIQUE BLOG HOP that I was invited to take part in by a fellow AMuse demonstrator, Angel Company demonstrator, friend and a very creative stamper - Chris Franco - you will find her here at Stamped Blessings .  She is an inspiration for me to try new techniques and often has great tutorials.  I will be sharing some things that a lot of you might not know about me.

                               1.  WHAT AM I WORKING ON.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new AMuse catalog - especially these Pretty Peonies, and the new Fiesta Papers that come in a 6 x 6 pad.  New yummy inks to go with the new paper as well as new color card stock.  and...no fussy cutting these pretty flowers and leaves - there is matching dies.  How easy can this be to create a beautiful card when it all matches.  Now a tool that I could not live without is my stamp positioner - why you ask???  Well I use my dies and run them through  my cuttlebug machine just using white cardstock.  Then using the clear plastic that comes with the stamp positioner I stamp my image then with some re-positional adhesive I put my plain white cut image on some scrap paper, line my clear plastic image that I have stamped on the white cardstock remove the plastic and PERFECTION.

     2.  HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM OTHERS

I am not really sure if I have a style - and if I do it changes often!!  I like cute, pretty, shimmer, glitter, and CAS (although this one is a challenge for me as I always think it needs more).  I love to blurf (surf stamping blogs) and get a lot of ideas and inspiration from blurfing as well as Pintrest - isn't Pintrest wonderful?

                         3.  WHY DO I CREATE AND HOW DID I
                                             GET STARTED

I will answer the 2nd question first - I have one of my besties, Donna T. to thank. (and you will see her creative process next week)  We had just moved 60 miles from the city - I was feeling lonely and had not made many new friends and she invited me to a SU party to which I said "I will come but I am not buying anything".  How many of us have said that???  And buy I did - not only SU, but I would hit every stamping store I passed - then I heard about The Angel Company and had a party and decided to become an ANGEL demonstrator.  I loved every minute being an angel demonstrator and began teaching classes at our local craft store.  Through the classes there I met another bestie, Pat, and we still get together as often as we can to create.    In 2011 The Angel Company went out of business and I choose to continue my stamping journey with AMuse and am still selling their product.  I was the last "Angel of the Year" what a honor and have my downline to thank for bestowing that honor on me.

The other part of this question is why do I create - I create for my chemo buddies, I have been a Chemo Angel, SubAngel, Special Angel and Senior Angel for about 10 years and there is always a request for a note/card to someone in need.  This is the way I can give just a little part of myself and hopefully make someones day just a bit brighter.  I especially love the children, but I have made some lasting friendships with some of my chemo buddies/families.  You give with your heart expecting nothing in return but when you do get a note from the buddy or their family you know your card meant a lot.

4.  HOW DOES MY CREATIVE PROCESS WORK

My favorite way to stamp is to get together with a bunch of friends and do shoe box projects, plus it motivates me to clean up my stamping studio.LOL  Once a year, while my husband is on his annual fishing trip to AR., there are 6 friends ranging from 57 to 84 and we all bring at least a couple of projects, and new techniques to share.  We stamp, snack, drink some wine, share life stories, and have an absolute amazing adventure.
When I stamp alone I am usually responding to a special request assignment for Chemo angels and I try and tailor my card to fit their age, gender, special favorite colors and/or interests.
I am a retired home health RN and loved my career choice of taking care of people, so I feel I have continued this passion in just a different way with my cards.
I am an avid dog lover, we have 2 amazing big girls, and we are part of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue for which we transport and foster dogs in need, again continuing my passion of caring.  Our pets love to share my craft space with me hence the name of my blog Glittered Paws!!!
God has blessed me with a lot of friends, good health, good eyesight, and hands that still create - for this I am so very thankful

Next week you will be introduced to Donna T. at Lakefront Stamping Creations who was an Angel for The Angel Company  as well as a Chemo Angel and also a RN and I think you will enjoy seeing her blog and creations.
You will also be introduced to Patti G. at Cherish Each Precious Day  who is multi-talented and takes her creativity to a different level.  She too is a Chemo Angel and a retired school secretary.
So On September 1, please make a visit to both Donna T. and Patti G and leave them some hugs on their blogs.  Thanks Chris for the privilege of sharing some of my works.

August 14, 2014 First day of School

Digi Image from Doodle Pantry, Cloud dies AMuse Studio, Washi Tape

I made this card to send to my sweet little chemo buddy that will be starting her first day of  school today, she had to delay her start a year because of her cancer but she is so excited  to be able to go this year.  I am going to get her some school goodies together to send in a little package along with the card.  The card was easy peasy - my favorite as the digi was precolored and I computer generated the saying and punched out some tiny stars to put under the words.  She is going to be just like a little sponge and soak up so much knowledge - can't wait to see how she likes school.  Challenges:
Doodle Pantry - anything goes using a digi image

August 9, 2014 Congrats Happy Banner

Happy Banner Stamp and Die by MFT  die from Die-Namics by MFT- ribbon from my stash colored with copics

You think maybe I love this little Happy Banner girl from MFT - Pure Innocence stamp and die, this is at least the 5th card/project I have used her for.  I paper pieced her dress, hairbow, and socks then colored the rest of her with copic markers.  One of my chemo buddies graduated last week so our protocol is that we send a "congrats" type card a giftie and a note.  I thought this card was very appropriate for the occasion.
I so enjoy all of my chemo buddies from the little ones to the adults as well as the seniors.  I think I will be using this stamp and matching die again probably several times.

Stamp by Stampendous, Spellbinders dies, colored with copics

I have a little chemo buddy that I am filling in for while his regular angel is out for a few weeks and I thought this little guy was perfect for a 5 year old.  He has 3 siblings so this week I made up a package of Koolade and some of those fun twisty straws,  and a couple boxes of skittles.  When the chemo buddies have siblings I often try and include them in my gifties so they don't feel left out.  Plus this fit in a nice padded envie so hopefully will save a bit of $$ on postage.    Challenges:

SU image, copics, basic grey dp, bling CTMH

A couple of months ago my friend Patti  and I got together for a morning of stamping and catching up and she brought me a couple of images to color, well I ran across them this past week and I colored them up - I have no idea what kind of flower this is but I made it red!!!  This may be the card I send to my chemo buddy that is graduating - love the sentiment.  Trying to use up some of my stash of papers vs. buying more - Good Luck with That right???

Designer Papers The Paper Loft, Stamp/die cut MFT, Balloon dies Paper Smooches, twine and pink cs from my stash

I finally cashed in my gift certificate from Simon Says and I got some fun new "stuff" including this darling MFT girl which comes with her own die.  I love to paper piece so I colored her with copics and then paper pieced her outfit and hair bow.  Love how the designer papers from The Paper Loft  go together so nicely and I thought this selection from Truly Scrumptious was perfect for this card.  What fun this card was to make following Saturday Sketch (well almost).  I have two happy occasions to send tomorrow, one is to my chemo buddy who has graduated so I thought this image would be perfect - and then there was a special request for birthday cards for a sweet little girl so I am thinking this one will go to the little girl and I will work up another one for my graduation chemo buddy.  Challenges:

I am a guest designer this month for The Paper Loft and oh my their papers are just yummy.  I had some leftover scraps of Shades of Gray and I thought that set the scene for this ladies evening in Paris.  Colored her and then cut just the beautiful lady out so I could pop her up on the college, then distressed the rest of the college.  I had this cute Eiffel Tower bling that I had gotten at Michaels the last time I went shopping and I knew it was the perfect bling for this card.  I think I already know who is going to get this card for her birthday.  Challenges:

July 13, 2014 Anniversary Card

All supplies except thread and flower are from The Paper Loft

I can't believe I am way ahead with my anniversary card for my dear husband, now he never looks at my blog so no fear that he will see it early.  I did a sunburst card using pattern 12 x 12 papers and accessory sheet from The Paper Loft.  I love how all of the papers and the sentiment just "go together" like WE do!!!  This card is masculine with just a touch of bling.  I have been seeing so many card designers use the loose thread just looped or layed under the edge of their image and thought I would give it a try.  I used black/silver embroidery thread separated into 4 strands and just worked with it a bit.  Fun and I know I will try this again with fine twine etc.

July 7, 2014 Dinosaur Card

All DP from the Paper Loft, ivory CS Gina K

I won the June challenge over at The Paper Loft recently and will be guest designer for July - they have beautiful 12 x 12 papers double sided and great accessory sheets to go with the designer papers.  I make a lot of kids cards for my chemo angels and when I saw this as part of the Funkysaurus line I knew it would work up great.  I made several of these slide up cards for 4th of July and decided to make one for my new little guy who loves dinosaurus.  I already had a dinosaur color book and a new pack of colors to send with this great interactive card.
