Little black/Red Dress
Two more "oldies but goodies" while going through the box of cards I found. This set was either called Little Black dress or Little Red dress - can't remember but it was another fun set. On the black and white card - no bling, no embellishments no nothing but it is still a nice presentation. I love the lines (which I still have) and will see if I can use them again soon. The red dress is paper pieced with just a slight bit of bling on the flower. The happy day is a vertical set we carried called groovy words I believe. Hope you have enjoyed sharing some "oldies".

Valeries Gift Hop
I was asked to participate in a blog hop as a surprise for Colleen at http://creativepaperroom.blogspot.com/ in honor of her daughter Valerie whom she lost in a tragic car accident when Valerie was only 19. We used a stamp by Whimsy Stamps,http://www.whimsystamps.com/ the stamp was named Valerie's Gift in honor of Colleen's dear daughter. She was so much fun to color, she just sprang to life the more color I used. I coloerd her with copics and atyou glitter pens. I made a gatefold card and used DP by DCWV Glitter Sweet. Won't you continue enjoying the creations by the other great artists that participated in this hop.

Happy Birthday
I found a box of cards in the back of the craft room closet and it was so much fun to sit and look through them. I am thinking I made this card at least 3-4 years ago and I remember using rubber bands on a brayer and a K-pad. A few months the angels had a technique swap and this was one of the techniques that was in the swap. Talk about a simple card - I think the Happy Birthday is from a retired set called Swirly Sayings and remember this punch we used to carry - where we could wrap the string around the card, well yes I still have that punch too. There are just some things that I can't give up!!!

Guess Whoo
I got a new punch for Christmas and had not yet played with it although I really think it is cute!!! I really enjoyed creating the little owls for this card. I used the branch from Artsy owl and the sentiment from What A Hoot. I used pop dots to lift the owls just a bit off the limb. Colored the branch with prisma pencils and OMS and added a bit of bling to the left side of the card. I think this will go to dear granddaughter (the youngest who is 9) as we do really miss her and wish she lived closer than 500 miles in South Bend IN. She loves to get cards from Grandma so I think she will enjoy getting this one.

Hooray
Dear granddaughter called me and she can now sign RN behind her name - she passed her state boards and is on her way to a rewarding (most of the time) career. She has a job in Telemetry at SEMO - Southeast Missouri University Hospital working nights. I made this card the same time I made her Good Luck card as I used the same cs and DP. I used the little girl from Cheery Thoughts - paperpieced her dress and colored the rest with copics. I colored the star with the stardust clear pen we have in the catalog. Hope she enjoys.

Congrats
This card is for my dear granddaughter Paige - who has had a lot going on in her life this last week. Her dear boyfriend proposed to her last week on top of her having to take nursing state boards. (I will let you know how that turned out when she hears, as I have a card to post). I love this set Rolling By - (as I love all our little children sets in our catalog) and thought the little girl/boy on skates was just too cute. Talk about thinking out of the box - I had a set called Words of Wisdom (retired/special edition) which I cut apart and used Theres nothing like Falling in Love and then on the inside I used a congrats stamp and wrote my own little message. They have know each other since 8th grade but somehow just didn't get together until now. In fact granddaughter was engaged last year and the engagement was broken. We love Rusty - he is funny, caring, polite, Christian and most important adores Paige. He will be a welcome to our family.

Valentine Blog Hop
I made a card and treat packs for my Valentine Blog Hop here at Paper Wings. The card is for DH using Valentine hedgehog from the set Valentine T3299. this set has some really cute images to use for not only Valentines Day but throughout the year. I made a Z-fold card using Maggie DP - it just went so well with this little guy, colored the hedge with copics used some clear glaze on the heart to make it pop a bit. The tag was in the set of Maggie DP and it was just what I needed to complete this card - 5 things I Love about you. Hope he enjoys his card.
The treat packs are quick and easy to make up (I think this is what I will make for the girls at my office), and who doesn't love Ghirardelli chocolate??? I used a GWP image (the elephant) on one - colored with copics and glitter pen, and a saying from label lingo (retired) on the other packet. I'm thinking I will make several of these, will put a couple in granddaughters box, my Chemo Angel lady, and maybe some "special" friends. Why not go from here and see what the other angels at PaperWings have come up with for this loving Blog Hop!!

PWP Valentine
I have been on a roll with Valentine cards this week - and I love using a red, ivory, and black palette - it makes a rich looking card. I used a PWP ($2.95) called Diamond ornament and stamped in a pattern using my stamp-a-ma-jig (what would I do without that tool). Used #4 nestie to cut out the red and ivory that I mounted on the main card. happy Heart Day is a retired set called Label Lingo and I am using it quite a bit lately. A few red pearls for my bling and a simple Valentine.

Good Luck
I have had this stamp set a while and I just love all the little girls/boys we have in our line. I spoke with dear granddaughter this weekend and she told me she was sitting for her nursing state boards this coming Friday - 1-14 so I knew which stamp I was going to use. I got the Good Luck from a "retired" set Friendly Greetings, and the little girl from Rolling By. I colored her with copic markers. I used TuttiFrutti DP a bit of sheer blue polka dot ribbon and 2 small nailheads on the scooter. On the inside I used another "retired" saying God will help you stand up to anything. I have used this set Words of Wisdom many many times and will continue to hang on to it. I lined the inside of the envelope with the same DP that is on the card. I am sure she will be happy for the encouraging words inside.

Get Well Dog
One of my BFFs Pat made this darling "get well" card for her "niece" dog Stella. The stamp is by Doggone Stamps and is just too cute. IRL it has wonderful textured snow and the colors are very much like our Stella. Stella had surgery almost 2 weeks ago for a torn ACL which is major surgery for a dog. We now call her our $1,000,000 bionic dog!! There goes our cruise for this February - but a cruise only lasts 5 days and Stella brings us happiness year round. The recovery will be about 12 weeks - yes I said 12 weeks. Try keeping an energetic 70#girl down. Thank heaven for doggie downer!!! For real!!!

Southern Bell
Who remembers this beauty from years past??? In fact I think this was a set I got when I had my TAC party then decided to become an angel. She was so much fun to color with my copics (I found a really good coloring chart on Color Me Copics). This chart has taken some of the guess work out of combining colors for me. I used a Hero Arts lace doily (I am loving some of the retro style stamps out there), and fussy cut the southern belle out and place her with pop dots in the middle of the doily. I also added another layer with just the rose on her hat for added pop!! I then added just a bit of bling with small red pearls and Happy Valentines Day at the bottom. I am thinking this will probably go to my Chemo Angel, as I got a new one recently. After my little guy passed I felt like I just couldn't do another child just yet so I asked for an adult and I got a 55 year old with breast cancer so I am hoping this will bring a smile to her face. I am also putting together a clear bucket of red/pink goodies to send her too so I will post when I get it filled.

Cheery Hello
This little girl makes up so cute for a "girly" Valentine. I colored her with copics and paperpieced her outfit with More Mimi paper. Matching photo corners with just a tiny bit of bling in the left corner using TAC Fun Gem Collections in white. Polka dots seem to be in this season so I used the polka dots from Background Soup. I am happy I have 2 granddaughters so one of them will be getting this card.

Valentine Girl
This little girl is from a set of 4 from "the other company" but I fell in love with these vintage type children and had to have the set. This little girl was so much fun to color (with copics). I used a embossing folder that I borrowed from a BFF Pat and it worked perfect with this image, a bit of bling with pearls, popped up the little girl and how cute did this turn out. I think this will be for dear granddaughter.

Valentine Rosette
My BFF gave me a Martha Stewart scoreboard for Christmas and I have been making rosettes like crazy, what fun. For this card I did a bit of cuttlebug work, a thin strip of red/tan ribbon and a rosette made with kraft/red paper which I thought went so well with TACs red and kraft CS. A heart brad in the center of the rosette and easey peasy card. I am going to make some rosettes with TAC double sided papers this afternoon.
